Door Colors and Finishes for Impact Doors
Door colors and finishes at Storm Pro Window and Door start with fiberglass impact doors that can be painted nearly any color or stained to look like real wood, with a factory finish, coordinating weatherstripping, decorative glass and hardware options. The best way to choose is to see samples in person at our Tarpon Springs or Fort Myers showroom.
What door colors and finishes are available?
Fiberglass doors can be painted nearly any color, from whites and neutrals to deep blues, greens, reds and black. A factory finish is applied under controlled conditions, which gives a more uniform, durable result than painting on site.

Paint and Stain Finishes
How fiberglass doors take paint and stain, and why the factory finish matters.
Can a fiberglass door look like real wood?
Yes. Doors with wood-grain textures and square edges can be stained to closely resemble oak, mahogany, cherry and other woods. Unlike wood, fiberglass will not absorb moisture, swell or rot.
Why do a factory finish and matching weatherstripping matter?
Coordinating weatherstripping matches the door and frame, so no bright white or dark strips show when the door is closed. A factory finish is cured before delivery, so the door arrives ready to install and does not need painting afterward. That saves time on install day and helps the finish hold up to years of strong sun.

Glass and Hardware
Decorative glass and hardware finishes that complete the door.
What decorative glass options are there?
All glass in our impact doors is laminated impact glass.
Picking the Right Finish
Tips for choosing colors in Florida, matching sliding door frames, and seeing samples in person.
How do I pick door colors and finishes for Florida sun and salt air?
Sun exposure
Very dark colors absorb more heat. On a door facing west or south in full sun, ask how the finish is rated for heat, or consider a medium tone.
Salt air
Close to the Gulf, choose hardware and finishes made for coastal conditions and rinse them occasionally.
HOA rules
Many communities limit exterior colors. Check the approved palette before you order.
Whole-house harmony
Coordinate with trim, garage door and window frames.
See it outdoors
Colors look different under showroom lights than in bright sun. Take a sample outside if you can.
Glass and privacy
Decorative or privacy glass changes how a color reads up close. Look at samples with the glass style you plan to order.
What about sliding door frame colors?
Frame colors vary by product and material. White and bronze tones are common, and some lines offer more. Compare what each manufacturer offers on our impact window and door brands page or on the manufacturer’s own site, such as PGT.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I paint my fiberglass door later?
Fiberglass doors can generally be repainted with suitable exterior products and prep, but check the manufacturer’s guidance first, since repainting may affect the finish warranty.
Will a dark door fade in Florida?
Any exterior finish can fade over time in strong sun. Factory finishes are built for durability, and some manufacturers give specific guidance for dark colors. We share that guidance for the products you are considering.
Can the inside and outside be different colors?
Many door lines allow a different interior and exterior finish, such as a bold exterior color with a white interior.
How do I match my door to my windows?
Bring photos of your home to the showroom or ask during your consultation. We coordinate door colors and finishes, frame colors and grid styles across windows and doors for a consistent look.
