Impact Entry Doors That Protect and Welcome
Impact entry doors are hurricane-rated front door systems tested to resist wind-borne debris and wind pressure. Storm Pro Window and Door installs fiberglass impact entry doors with a polyurethane foam core in single, double, sidelite and transom configurations, with decorative, privacy or clear glass, and most are installed in one day.
Choosing an Impact Entry Door
Door styles, glass choices and materials, so you can narrow down the front door that fits your home.
Which impact entry doors fit my home?
Every door system is built to the opening you have, or the one you want.
Single doors
A clean, classic choice, solid or with a glass insert.
Double doors
A grand entry for wider openings. Both panels are part of the tested assembly.
Sidelites
Narrow glass panels on one or both sides bring daylight into the foyer.
Transoms
Glass above the door adds height and light, useful with tall ceilings.
Doors are made to custom sizes, so an unusual opening is not a problem. We measure during your consultation.
What glass options are available for a front door?
All glass in our impact entry doors is laminated impact glass, so you get light without giving up protection.
Decorative glass: textured, beveled or patterned designs
Privacy glass: lets light in while blurring the view from outside
Clear glass: maximum light where privacy is not a concern
Full-lite, half-lite or small inserts: depending on how much glass you want in the slab
Glass reads differently in person, so our Tarpon Springs and Fort Myers showrooms display samples.
Fiberglass, steel or wood: which front door holds up best in Florida?
For most homes we serve, fiberglass gives the best mix of durability, efficiency and appearance.
Fiberglass
Resists rot, swelling and rust and does not dent easily. A foam core adds insulation. It can be painted or stained to look like wood. This is what Storm Pro installs for entry doors.
Steel
Strong and often budget-friendly, but it dents, and a scratched skin can rust in salt air. It also gets hot in direct sun.
Wood
Traditional, but it absorbs moisture and can swell, warp and rot in humidity. It needs regular refinishing on a sunny entry.
How do impact entry doors improve security?
A door built to stop a flying 2×4 is also hard to force. Reinforced hinges, a heavier frame and laminated glass that holds together when struck all slow down a break-in. Many systems add multi-point locking along the frame. We help you choose handlesets and deadbolts in a finish that suits the house.

What colors and finishes can I choose?
Fiberglass doors can be painted nearly any color or stained to look like real wood. Square edges help the door read as crafted wood instead of molded. Each door comes with a factory finish and coordinating weatherstripping. See the options on our door colors and finishes page.
Quality work done by professionals. Good prices, great communication, and always showed up on time.
How are impact entry doors installed?
Most entry doors are installed in one day. Storm Pro pulls the permit, protects your floors, removes the old door, installs the new system with our in-house crew and cleans up. We will never install into a rotted or structurally unsound frame. Products carry a Florida Product Approval you can verify in the Florida Building Commission database. Frequently Asked Questions
Can an impact front door have glass?
Yes. Glass inserts, sidelites and transoms use laminated impact glass, and the glass is part of the tested and approved assembly. You get daylight and a decorative look without giving up hurricane protection.
Are double front doors available as impact doors?
Yes. Double impact entry doors are available for wider openings. Both panels, the frame and the locking hardware are part of the approved system.
Will a fiberglass door look like real wood?
With wood-grain texture, square edges and a stain finish, fiberglass can closely resemble wood. Visit our Tarpon Springs or Fort Myers showroom to compare samples side by side before you decide.
How long does it take to replace a front door?
Most entry door installations are completed in one day. Doors with sidelites, transoms or frame repairs may take longer. We give you a realistic timeline after we measure and inspect the opening.
Which brands of entry doors do you install?
Storm Pro installs entry doors from Masonite, Plastpro and Advisar. Styles, glass options and warranties vary by manufacturer. See our impact window and door brands page.
